One king, 4 exaggerations in his life-part 1

In the year of 960 B.C.E approximately there was a new king in Israel, the king Solomon, which became a one after a great manipulation of Nathan the prophet in the beginning of 1 Kings 1. Solomon is considered as a king with a lot of dignity and honor from the old ages till today, I must say.

King Solomon

In this blog I want to speak a little bit about exaggerations, we all do that, we all say sometimes things in order to give a better light for us or for other people, whom we want to be greater than they are! This is something human to shape the truth in order to become bigger and greater. So if it is today a thing that we do, why can’t we go back to The Scriptures and check it there?

The first exaggeration can be found after that David declared that Solomon would be his successor, it’s been said, that when Solomon became a king with the declaration of the people all the country was cracked open with the voice of the people as written in 1 Kings 1:40-

"וַיַּעֲלוּ כָל-הָעָם, אַחֲרָיו, וְהָעָם מְחַלְּלִים בַּחֲלִלִים, וּשְׂמֵחִים שִׂמְחָה גְדוֹלָה; וַתִּבָּקַע הָאָרֶץ, בְּקוֹלָם"

"And all the people went up after him, playing flutes and rejoicing greatly, so that the ground shook with the sound"

I am happythe solomon is the king!

I am sure that the happiness was great and that the people, that probably felt that David is going to die soon, but in every joy and happiness there is an exaggeration, here it is not just with the people of Israel, it is also with the hand of the writer…

Next time we will shoe 3 more exaggerations; have a nice week, Eli
