The shepherd in the biblical Hebrew is the leader, which takes his sheep and save them from all the dangerous situations in life. Usually the shepherd is a man, but today we are going to speak about the real shepherd- the one who is saves us, his believers, all the time- God.
In the book of psalms we can find a song that speaks about this idea- psalm 23.
Let us look at the verses and see how the shepherd acts with his sheep. In verse 1 it’s written:
“מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד: יְהוָה רֹעִי, לֹא אֶחְסָר”
“A Psalm of David, The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
We don’t need anything when The Lord guards us; there is no shortage, lack and need in something once there is providence, when The Lord is with us. This shortage will be probably only when The Lord is not going to be with us. Every one of us should see God as a shepherd and only if we will do this- we will get the supervising!!
When we putting our trust in The Almighty, when we are feeling secure- our confidence is getting better and better all the time, like the song of the Beatles from sergeant pepper, but we won’t be like the sergeant- we won’t feel lonely!
