Psalm105- a different number of the plagues in Egypt- part 1

We all know the famous story of the exile from Egypt. This story that appears in the book of Exodus describes how Moses, who was chosen by G-d, led his people out of Egypt, used his staff in order to show the Egyptian the power of The Lord, as we can read in Exodus 7:19-21-

“The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone.” Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt”

blood

Blood was the first plague out of ten plagues which we are familiar with in the Jewish tradition. The rest of the nine plagues are frogs, lice, gnats and flies, disease on livestock, boils, hail and thunder, locusts, darkness and death of the first-born.

ten

The story of the ten plagues was also told to us in the book of Psalms. Next time we will see how many plagues appear in Psalms 105.

Have a good week, Eli

It is enlightening too, to know what under perspective you emphasize the events in the Holy Scriptures. The mighty, omnipotent G_d knitted all the richness of heaven into His Words, if my insufficient words is ever enough … He is awesomely Wonderful. Reading all His amazing works makes me soar, makes me long for His Dwelling Place. Be thankful out there Folks, you got a special part of His time.
